    Hello :),

I've tried multiple times flashing many different ROMs onto my phone with the latest TWRP, and it never works.

    What could the problem be?

Are you still s-on? Probably have to try and flash the kernel separately via fastboot. On PC in the rom zip file if you open it using something like 7-zip, look for the boot.img file and extract it to where you have fastboot tool. Flash rom zip as normal in TWRP, reboot to bootloader, with phone plugged in to PC:

    fastboot flash boot boot.img

    fastboot reboot

Sorry, forgot about checking the obvious first. When trying to flash roms are you doing a full wipe in TWRP first, that is wipe dalvik, system, cache and data? I tend to do this in Advanced Wipe and then selecting those partitions - don't select anything else in here that relates to storage (internal SD card, external sd card).

If you are doing a full wipe, especially if coming from a different rom, then try the boot.img flash.

    Wipe was done correctly.

If I were to flash the ROM zip as normal, it would return a "Failed" message.

That's before I would have a chance to flash the boot.img separately.

Ah right, sorry should have asked you to be more specific in the first place. What exactly is the error message you see in TWRP then? There can be a few that are the cause of rom install fails.

That's an easy one to sort. In TWRP settings untick the option to do "Zip file signature verification check". Its a safety check mechanism that won't allow you to install anything but signed roms. Most custom roms these days aren't signed, that's why you can't get any flashed.

@EarlyMon Would it be wrong to say this was the issue from the beginning?

Your first post was after an RUU, so, impossible to say.

Checking for a signed package is the default for restores, not installs, so not sure of the sequence here.

I've never unchecked that option, so it's probable.

Hi, i am struck almost in the same position. I own a HTC One M8 - Verizon version.
ROOT is clear, S-Off is done.
But when i try installing any ROM i am getting the same error.
Error message reads likee "Could not find 'META-INF/com//google/android/update-binary' in the zip file.
    Error installing zip file. "

Please help in getting past through this error. Thanks.

Flash a rom made for the model number of your device and it has to be higher or the same version as the current OS.
