Help typing in landscape mode

All of the sudden I can no longer text/send emails in landscape mode. Does anyone know why? I checked my settings and "Auto-rotate Screen" is checked. However, when I text/send emails/watch Youtube, it does not rotate. Any suggestions?

Same thing. Cannot switch to landscape. This happened real recent.

As usual....a hard reset seemed to cure all problems.
