Hope they've addressed BT Voice Dialing. That's my biggest gripe w/ UD 8.

Thanks Chief, I installed that same update awhile back, but unfortunately it is only a 'half' fix. It allows you to initiate a call from a BT headset, but instead of dialing the # you request, it just pops up a dialog box on the screen w/ a list of potential numbers. You then have to tap the correct # on the screen. Sorta defeats the whole purpose of handsfree BTVD. So, BTVD is actually still broken. I'm not sure the dev is even aware of this. I was the 1st one to submit a bug report on his support site about it, but then his site got nuked shortly thereafter.

Bizarre. It worked perfectly for me without having to do anything on the screen.

Works for me too... WHEN it understands me and dials the right number

You sure there's no BT setting somewhere that gives you a menu? I've never heard of it.

Won't be one. Apparently Blackdroid is going straight from UD 0.8 to 1.0.0. It is supposedly "amazing" according to testers and is due to hit the streets at any moment. Could be now, could be next month. I'm really hoping for now :)

My reports from the tester have the ROM complete. I've seen the screenshots. Just waiting on BD's site to come back online so he can host it. Could be as early as tonight.

EDIT: It's simply called "The Ultimate Droid 1.0.0" if that matters to anyone...

Not sure but probably a few things were lifted from it. What I don't know. That may have contributed to the delay. I didn't flash MIUI myself so it'll be a total surprise for me.

I never flashed it either. I had heard rumors about a few MIUI touches being thrown in, but wasn't sure. Thought you may have seen some of that from the screenshots.

I know I am anxious to see and flash UD 1.0.0. I have a feeling this will be the rom of all roms for the droid.

In the meantime while we are waiting i figured I'd pose a question to you all to pacify some time. I was curious as to whether you use a screen protector or not. I know that the droid is made with Gorilla Glass and supposedly very scratch resistant (I am sure we have all seen the youtube videos). What are your thoughts?

I currently have been using a screen protector since day 1 on my droid but I have come down to my last screen protector in the 3 pack and I am debating going naked and I wanted to know everyone's thoughts.

I used a screen protector for a long time and when i finally had to take it off i decided against putting a new one on. been naked for a couple months now and not a scratch, even with keys and coins and stuff in my pockets. with the droid, screen protectors are a waste of money imho

Mine's been naked since a week after it's release (last November). Not a scratch. I am careful with my stuff ... but even still, this glass rocks!

You may as well start doing your backups because you'll have to wipe going from 0.8 to 1.0.0... just letting you know

    Perrysburg, Oh.
I started using the crap screen protectors provided by Verizon, then went to a Seidio, which is excellent, very smooth, with minimal finger prints. I would go without but was taking a pottery class, lots of sand, which I hear even the Gorilla glass doesn't like.

My opinion on screen protector's: Tried it for a month or so since I got my droid back in January and from what I remember that thing got me pissed lol. First, the start coming off so easily. Second, they make my screen look ugly. Third, Gorilla Glass is too amazing. My cousin got the Droid 2 and the VZW rep convinced him to get the protector and he took it off within a week. Lets just face the fact that there is no need for a screen protector!!!!!!!!!!!!! So yeah thats my little rant on protectors.

One question though that is besides the point: Directed to The_Chief: In your signature I have noticed that you recently changed it to Ultimate Droid 1.0.0. Did someone give you the file? Or have I been lost and it came out already?

Another question before I forget: For some reason I just noticed that my bluetooth doesn't work at all. As in when I tried to give my cousin a file through Bluetooth File Transfer my bluetooth won't even turn on. I rarely use bluetooth so I don't even care that much but I just want it fixed just in case I decide to get a bluetooth or something. Also I know it's not a problem w/ the app b/c I tried to turn it on via the power control widget and thru settings. Wow that was a lot of typing! So much for a quick reply.

Does anybody know if the statusbar customizations in UD8 allow you to change the tile background color for notifications? It doesn't seem so, but I thought I'd ask.

I'm running NexTheme, and I really dislike the gray notifications. Was wondering if I could get them black. Any other method of doing this?

Also would like to know if Black Droid has given you testers any word on when he plans to release the rom.
