What specific UI improvements are you looking forward to the most? I'm loving the carousel view along with landscape view in the music application. Out of the box HDMI mirroring is also awesome. I wish it was like stock froyo though, where you drag the icon on the homescreen to the trash button, and hold it there to uninstall. I hate having to search through my apps.

Didn't know about the 'hold over trash' to uninstall; thanks for that tip! In ADW, if you long press any of your shortcuts/widgets, you have the option to go right to the Application Info where you can uninstall. You can also rename the shortcut and give it a custom icon. I hope these basic things make it into Sense.

HDMI mirroring has a lot of potential. As I've mentioned in some other thread, I really hope that HID support comes out of the box so we can control the UI without having to look at the phone.

This one's not really UI but... I noticed today that my bezel is now fully cracked near the power button as well as the volume rocker buttons. Hopefully these weak spots are addressed in the Evo 3D.

Honestly, the only UI thing I'm really excited for the the new lock screen, it will be extremely usefull to be able to go right into the text and email apps

One thing I'm also wondering is how Bluetooth 3.0 will work with sense this go around. Anyone know if it'll enable the use of external keyboards and also Wiimotes? I've been dying to couple a wiimote with my EVO for emulators without having to root/reflash.

I was saying in another thread that if full HDMI mirroring is going to be offered stock this time around that Sense should also support HID out of the box as well.

Funny, I'm rooted and on CM, so I have full HDMI mirroring, and I've successfully paired a BT mouse. But I don't have a Wiimote to try out on the emulators... And at this point, I don't feel like buying a BT game controller until I hear for sure that it will work for the Evo 3D.

But I do have a little taste of what it's like if HID works smoothly. Two ways to experience for yourself:

    1) download the SDK and set up an AVD (Android Virtual Device). That's what app developers use to test their apps on. It's pretty much an Android emulator. But you interface it with keyboard/mouse on the desktop you have it running on.

    2) install a VNC server on your phone (requires root to work). Then connect to your phone via a VNC client on a desktop. Unfortunately, VNC is a slow protocol, so even if you had a USB game controller plugged in to the PC, the refresh rate would be too slow to play a game on an emu. But still cool to control the phone without touching it.

HTC has acquired some online music company, the name escapes me. Would be cool to have a good music content provider, the more the merrier.

HTC Sync that didn't bury synced music in itunes down 6 directories would be nice. thats kind of ridiculous how it does that.

    The fastboot is pretty amazing.

The new lockscreen is pretty cool.

    The new carousel

The new HTC Widgets are improved.

Built in battery saving functionality is impressive.

Those are the main things ive noticed so far...

I've been trying to figure out for a week how to get the more "squared" off launcher as seen here:

I can't figure it out... it's not in the Skins or Themes... Hrmm...

We should that theme come when HTC releases more for phones with qhd displays. The thunderbolt has it.

i like everything but the carousel, i find it annoying and i hope there is an option to disable it in the future

not a big fan of the lag, its not much, but just enough to be annoying, but then again i've never owned an htc phone that didnt have lag

I actually like the carousel. Now to get to my last screen I just have to make a quick flick to the left instead of scrolling all the way through all the screens going right. Pretty handy for me. For those who don't like it I think it would be a good idea to have the option to turn it off. I also like the new lock screen.

I agree with you on both accounts, but HTC would learn from other launchers to allow these to be features you can turn off for those that don't like it, this way we get the best of both worlds

I reaaaaallly would like a scrollable dock and landscape homescreens. Other than that I really wouldn't want anything to change.

That's probably the only thing I don't like about the carousel. I really like wallpaper scrolling. I hope there's an option in the future to enable it.

I do NOT like the way the screens wrap, makes navigation harder for me. Otherwise the carousel is mildly cool to show off the phone, but I really don't care about it. If I could turn it off, I would. But I am not on the warpath about it.
