Help unable to connect lg optimus one p500 via bluetooth to laptop

It clearly states in the manual the P500 can't do a whole load of stuff with PC Suite... connect via BT is one. In fact it seems all you can do with BT-PC out of the box is the standard file transfer stuff.
I was seriously bummed when I found this, it's a great phone but so far this is the first serious flaw. I'm hoping there's another way I can sync everything with Outlook (Win7) via Bluetooth. Carrying around interface cables is soooooo 2000.
My years old nokia E65 can do it, I took it for granted that as time goes by functionality would only get better !!?!?
