Unable to connect to Wi-Fi after software update

I performed a system software upgrade yesterday following a prompt to do so when switching on phone. Updated through Wi-Fi no problem. However, I am now unable to connect to my Wi-Fi - I get a constant loop of Obtaining IP address - disconnecting- Obtaining IP address.

I called the HTC helpline who told me to do a factory reset but that hasn't solved the problem. All of my other devices e.g. Ipod Touch are connecting to Wi-Fi.

Has anyone ideas as to what is going on?

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forums, Peter.

Software updates will often cause the device to loose it's IP handshake with the router you're used to connecting to.

The remedy is to restart the router, allowing a new matchup.

I'd also reboot the phone, once the router has fully finished its restart routine.

The best thing to do is to turn your phone off and then turn your router off. Then after 30 sec turn both on. Then try to connect to the wifi, if you cant do it then its the drivers that you will need to get installed.

Thanks Huzzy and Frisco but the problem still remains.

    How do I install drivers?

    Many Thanks
