Unable to disable Samsung browser on Android

My wife has a Samsung A500. Not a great buy as it happens, but she has one!

I have installed Firefox, Ghostery and blocked pop-ups on both the Samsung browser and on Firefox. I have even "forced stop" the Samsung browser. As soon as she has wi-fi access and uses either FIrefox or Whatsapp, the Samsung browser opens with loads of unwanted s**t, including porn and dating sites (lucky its not on my phone because I'd be in a lot of trouble).

Is there any way to completely block the native browser, or even delete it forever without doing anything too complicated like rooting it?

Not really.. But you can try this. It should integrate with many top browsers, especially and most importantly the Samsung browser

I highly doubt it's the Samsung browser doing this. It's a pretty lightweight webkit browser with limited functionality (unless your wife's phone is rooted.) I would guess that there is some sort of adware installed that invokes a browser pop-up.

First thing I'd do is clear both the app cache and the browser cache, then reboot the phone into recovery and clear the system cache just to be safe.
