I installed Mx Player Pro apk a while ago. The app installed but I was unable to install the codec. I tried installing the codec from Google Play but I got the message "incompatible with apps on shared id ". I then logged in with a different Google account. However I still got the same error. The operating system is Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and the phone is Samsung Nexus S.

If anyone knows how I can install the codec to Mx player Pro I will be very grateful. Thanks.

I suppose you've been told to install codecs by Mx Player application (when you start the player, if no codecs are needed, you don't have to install them). Have you already tried to delete the Mx Player cache, uninstall and install it again or restart the phone?

Thanks for your help. I have been told by Mx player to install a specific codec. My native player is streaming videos far faster than Mx player which never used to happen . I will try deleting the cache reinstalling the app and then try installing the codec.

I tried deleting the cache and reinstalling the app but the codec still won't install.

Thanks for the info on MX Player.
Needed a good player for latest LiveLeak App with added codec which installs automatically.

I am sure at 100% mx player does not need any codec for such an advanced model.Mx's codecs are only for older phones.I have been using it for years.

Anyway i think that mobo player (mobo team, not the other one) and dice player are even better (at least for their image quality,i like also mobo's option fill screen).

Well I uninstalled MX player pro apk and installed MX player from play store. No problem installing codecs this time. I guess MX player doesn't let you install codecs for apks of it's premium version.

And hulk if you say so I'll take your word that no codecs are needed for advanced models. Have you installed codecs yourself ? And are you sure you you would consider my Nexus S as an advanced model. Google has released two more models after mine.

Well you are right i should have been more precise.I have been using it for years and i noticed that it always requests specific codecs for phones with processor 600mhz AND/OR 256mb ram.

Phones with 800mhz and 512ram,which have (at least) gingerbread and support adobe flash player are sufficiently advanced to work Mx without a specific codec.I have possessed two of them, htc desire z and sansung galaxy mini 2 (i still use this one).

Nexus s should be out of question,it has to work without codecs.I didn't know that it doesn't even permit to install them, anyway i'm sure you don't need them. But try also the others,i think dice player has the best quality image, mobo player (mobo team) has useful options (i don't know if nexus s has 1 option like "fill screen" my older phones like galaxy mini 2 don't give this possibility with their native video player, anyway also mx has zoom option but i prefer how mobo handles it instantly).
