    I was able to Download the videos to my device from android video.

    Now after rooting I can only open them and the tv shows and videos play, but I can no longer save them. Does any one know how to save the links? They were all mp4s when I was saving them on my sdcard.
    I am using stock browser. Should I use another? Would like to be able to save them again it comes in handy on trips where I have no reception or WiFi.

    Thanks

    Rooting alone should not cause such an issue.
    You need to provide more details, like what phone you have, what software is on it, what site are you trying to download videos from?

    Probably the feature was removed by Google.
    They attack time after time on all apps that allow video downloads, especially from the Youtube site.

    Thanks, makes me think it was the creator of the site himself.

    He mentioned in a post that people were trying to pirate his material.

    I think the usual trick is not to save the stream, but to locate the video source file and download it. There are services that do that.

    For YouTube, you can use this simple bookmarklet:
    Code (Text):
    1. javascript:document.location="data:text/html,<!DOCTYPE%20html><html><body><a%20href=\""+document.getElementsByTagName("video")[0].src+"\">Download%20Video</a></body></html>";void(0);
    I know it looks scary, but it's really pretty easy to use:
    1. Copy the text above to the clipboard (or be ready to type it in, but I'd suggest the former).
    2. Go to the browser, open the menu, press "Bookmarks", then "Add bookmark...". Paste the text to the "Location" field, enter some title, press OK.

    Now, if you want to download a video, just go to the video USING YOUR BROWSER. Once you're on the video's page, open menu, then Bookmarks and select the bookmark you created. It will create a mostly empty page with a single link saying "Download Video". You can now long-press that link and chose "Save Link". It will now download your video to downloads\videoplayback-*.mp4.
