    Hi,
I am using vista x64 and can see my phone through adb ( adb devices shows serial #). But when I turn off usb debugging and put the phone in disk drive mode I am not able to see the card, I get in my computer cd drive verizon mobile and a removable disk. When opening the removable disk ask me insert a disk into removeable disk. Would like to get this working before rooting.

I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them. I see adb driver installed. I would assume by seeing the device through adb I can root but would like to have access to the sd card to transfer a rom plus have access to the files I have on there. I would like to have the access outside of adb, ie: file manager.

    Thanks for your help:) ,
    Bryan

You need to be able to put things on the SD card to root :(

Did you install the drivers with HTC sync? If not try to do so.

Try rebooting both phone and PC
