Each time I try to upgrade my Evo, on the "Settings > HTC software update" screen, it just hangs on the "Checking..." dialog box.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have tried rebooting, turning off Wifi, updating firmware (say it is up to date), updating profiles, etc. Nothing seems to work.

Just looking for a suggestion besides wiping the entire device.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

Did you root your phone then unroot it at some point? Why would you turn WiFi off if you are trying to update the phone over WiFi?

I would suggest uninstalling all your apps then reboot. That doesnt work then factory reset is the only thing left.

I would consider myself lucky if I were you. This update takes a lot more than it gives.
