For some reason I cannot see attached pictures in my gmail. It shows that they are there and .jpg and the size, but even when I click preview out to the side of where they should be it just says "Fetching Attachment...Please wait". And just keeps trying to fetch them. Any ideas or solutions?

    Instead of preview, use download.

Same result for me regardless of preview or download being selected.

    No, the app should work.

    Same here.

Is there any setting I need to change or something I can do to fix this?

[edit] Uninstalling and re-installing the Gmail update (2.3) solved my problem.

I'm also having this problem and agree that the app should work. I shouldn't have to abandon the app because it doesn't work right, especially a Google app. There's got to be a solution.

I found this link. Maybe this might help.
Android Gmail App (2.3) Attachments do not work - HTC EVO - Google Mobile Help

I followed the advice to do the following, and this fixed my problem.
    1. Go to Market on your android
    2. Search Gmail (Google Inc) app, click on it.
    3. Click "Uninstall Updates"

The preview attachment should work after this.

Also note that the link above has a Google employee working on it who invites user info to help him troubleshoot why this is happening.
