With the D1 my only undertaking was to overclock and try different kernels, ROMS, and scaling to try to preserve battery. With the raw speed of the X2 and the problems with battery life (dead at 4pm today with just over an hour of phone use) I was wondering how much success others are having with underclocking? Do you notice any lag? Any other schemes to preserve battery without sacrificing performance?

I'm not sure what about the differences between my setup and yours (I am not underclocked), but with root and frozen/removed bloatware, I am using my phone just as I used the OG Droid before it (which made it from 7 AM - 9 PM) and ending the day with roughly 30-40% battery remaining. Originally, I was planing to purchase an extended battery, but my experience has been so good that I am not changing anything for the time being.
