How long has the custom ROM worked before this happened or did it happen when you flashed the custom ROM?
Do you have a custom Recovery installed?
If you can only boot into Download Mode, reflashing the stock firmware may be your only choice and you will probably loose all saved data since there is no way to access it and backup.

Did you update the baseband to a Marshmallow compliant version?
Samsung devices don't play well with custom ROMs if the baseband or Bootloader aren't up to speed.

You can flash the baseband or Bootloader using Odin under "Phone". Without wiping your ROM, see if that helps. If it does the hiccups should stop.

If not you need to start with a clean slate (and update the baseband anyway).

Almost forgot. Some Bootloaders that enforce 'boot signing' give custom software the worst time. Some cause the phone to implode and brick.
