Unlocked Hero, no market

Hey all,

I bought my Hero recently from a Canadian website and I believe the phone came from Hong Kong from the tracking.

I like how its unlocked and all but I have no 'Market'. This makes finding apps and removing them a pain...

Anyone else in the same situation or offer some insight?

Yes, actually. I had the exact same problem (although I didn't know it in the beginning). This was the thread that saved the day.

Asian released models don't have Market.

You could consider rooting and flashing with standard European or MoDaCo custom firmware.

Any risk involved? I'd hate to loose the $600+ I just put into it lol...
