Root Unlocking bootloader with 2.3.6

Hi all,

Well as motorola announced that they are not going to upgrade atrix 4g to ICS.

I am thinking of putting a custom rom, like CM9, on the phone and enjoy the sweet Ice cream sandwich.

I have a question. Can unlock my bootloader? I am running 2.3.4 with 4.5.141.

Need help!

Nope... Nothing yet. I also read that if I try to unlock the bootloader I will end up brick my phone.
I hope someone here knows how to unlock the bootloader without making it a brick.

This guide was originally written for 2.3.4, it has also been confirmed to work for 2.3.6...

I am running 2.3.6 and I used this guide successfully.

Only problem is I think I may have lost root access after unlocking the bootloader

I have a question posted about it so hopefully someone will give me an answer and I can proceed to finishing things off and getting CM7 going.
