    Hello everyone,

Not sure if its just me but ever since I have had froyo installed my desire has had something going weird with the buttons.

The home, menu and back buttons have become unresponsive and needs at least a couple of hard pushes to get them doing as they should.

Am I on my own on this?

    Cheers

Can't say i have had any problems with mine at all, are you rooted or did you install the OTA version?
I see you are in my neck of the woods.

You could try rebooting the phone, or a more drastic measure would be a factory reset.

That's what it feels like sometimes, more so with the football ground over the back

Reboot and factory reset haven't solved anything. Already attempted that.

Oh well. Its still useable it's just annoying coz sometimes I have to press at least 2/3 times just to get a response from the buttons.

Ah all I see are yachts and water.. no football ground :) but can see the illuminations when a game is on or in training (if thats what they call it).

Its possible the OTA update is a coincidence... It may be worth taking it in to the store you got it from.

My daughters Desire has the same type of issue:

The phone went into constant reboot after OTA to 2.2. This was after she had noticed the GPS no longer working (she uses it for fitness malarky!).

    1. Volume up but no down.
    2. Search button not working.
    3. Menu button not working.
    4. Optical trackball not working.

I have a more recent model (I hope) and have had no issues with the update.

Have done the factory reset and still no luck.

Any one have any ideas before I send it back to HTC?

    Thanks

All of a sudden all of the buttons, less the swipe action of the trackball, work again - very strange.

I DID NOT experience the buttons not working correctly, but

after 2.2 my optical trackball / joystick is not reacting on swipes anymore.

Already mailed HTC support, but no answer yet. Anybody else with the same issue around? Maybe with a clean and fast solution?

Since updating to Froyo, my menu button has become unresponsive, often needing two or three presses to register. Occasionally, it seem to randomly bring up the keyboard rather than the menu too. The home button is also occasionally unresponsive, but not to the extent of the menu button.

Another weird effect; viewing photo's either via the camera or pictures apps shows blank images in the film-strip until touched to view. Anyone else?

Now I have exactly this problem.
Did you find out what solved it for you?
    Thank you.
    David.
