The hard way? The current rooting method is easy and takes less than 20 minutes.

Yeah it's easy except for the random, unpredictable process. I can complete every step to a 'T,' but my handset has been quite unwilling to cooperate when it comes to getting adb access in recovery.

An easier method means finding a way that is easy to replicate and does not involve chance, not simply technical simplification.

The steps involved aren't hard, but getting your phone to play along isn't always easy. I've been trying all weekend without luck. I think some phones just crack open easier than others.

All signs point to the nand unlock getting released before the easy root. There are cheap SD cards that make the root easily attainable.

The unrevoked USB bootloader NAND unlock for Incredible/EVO is getting close. We've been testing it with a small group and it works well!

Maybe you haven't noticed but it isn't as easy for everyone.

    Tweets coming fast and furious...

Our NAND unlock will flash a custom recovery that gives you full control over the device. You'll need to root once via adb.

    So I'm new at this...

Is the NAND unlock root? Do I have to root the phone before using the NAND unlock? Does the NAND unlock help to root the phone?

I've been having such a difficult time rooting with ADB recovery and I'm really holding out for a better process.
