(I've moved this from the Froyo thread...)

I'm thinking of debranding my Orange-locked Desrie using Unrevoked3 as it's supposed to be a doddle. I've downloaded the programme, but before I attach my phone ot my computer and press go, I have four questions (sorry if they're a bit basic):

    1. Do I need to unlock my phone first?
    2. Do I need a goldcard?
    3. Does Unrevoked provide a ROM or do I have to install that myself separately?
    4. What does this actuially do? Root? Debrand? What?

There is a whole thread on the one click Unrevoked method. Check it out, I just download the rooted version of Froyo with a few basic includes of some root tools.

Lots of modded ROMs can be found here.

I've got a branded Orange phone and used the unrevoked method to debrand. Took me a while but I got there eventually (as u will see in the unrevoked thread.....). As far as I'm aware, you can only lock your desire if you use the goldcard method. I've had no problems so far after trying about 6 or 7 different Roms. good luck and read everything thoroughly

yeah, no need for an unlock code with the newest radio... works fine... and unrevoked is the easiest way to go...

True there is no need to unlock but personally being with orange myself it can be advisable.
