Root Unroot/factory root suggestions?

Hey guys,

I rooted my phone the other night and want to do a factory reset. Do I need to unroot before doing so? I have not deleted any apps after rooting, just installed setCPU and Barnacle wifi.

What about when froyo is released for DX? Will I need to unroot or as long as I haven't deleted any apps it will install fine? Or are we not able to know until the time comes? Is there anything to be worried about if we're rooted and froyo installs OTA without confirming with us and bricking?

I think we're pretty safe now that the .sbf files is available. you can return your phone to just like the day you got it with the sbf.

Can I do the factory reset and maintain root since I haven't changed or deleted any apps? Should I use the one from the phone menu or do the power+home button reset from that command prompt-type menu?

Factory resetting a phone does not remove root access.

I kind of wish it were that easy.
