I have been given my brother's HTC Evo 4G, and he had it rooted with Revolution or w/e, but he did it through Command Prompt. He did this so he would be able to access the iTunes App market cuz of their larger apps. I REALLY want gingerbread on this phone, and it says its Android Version is 2.3.3 and the build number is 4.54.651.1. Now, whenever I go to the Android Market, it still looks like the Froyo market. I can't look at movies or nothin'. I have tried so many of the ways described, gone and looked at the dummy guide, downloaded RUU's, tried to use the PC36IMG method; nothing works. The HBoot is 6.16.0001, I have no clue how to get it back to 2.16 with RUUs, and the SO is set to OFF. I am running out of ideas, and don't know how to get Gingerbread on the phone, because the Market shows it clearly is not. PLEASE HELP!

Wait........ So is S currently S-ON or S-OFF?

What recovery (if any) does it have?

    What ROM?

my bad, S is set to OFF, what do you mean by what Recovery does it have? I think the ROM is Revolutionary, i think that's what you mean

Revolutionary is the method that was used to gain root.

The recovery is available in the H-Boot screen( where you see whether S is on or off)

The ROM will be in the about phone information under settings

2.3 is Gingerbread. It looks to me like everything is updated.

You might just want to search XDA for an updated market apk
