Root unroot to update?

    Hey guys, this is probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyways. Do u have to unroot to install a verizon update?

    wondering the same about my sprint Epic 4G, if I want to take the froyo update from sprint when it becomes available, do I have to unroot?

    Why would you want to unroot to install a Verizon update?;)

    Answer to your question, yes you will have to unroot to install update

    I think he, as I was, was wondering out of the desire to get 2.2 and if this was the only option. Especially in my case as there are currently (besides beta ones with a laundry list of known issues) no custom ROMs for the Epic. I'm just hoping there will be before Sprint releases the froyo update.
