From the same dev that brought you Easy Root, you can now enjoy some minor overclocking on your DX or D2 with DX/D2 Overclocker.

Awesome this whole new overclocking is great. Kinda wanted to see the 1.4ghz profile on it but awesome none the less

Link is bad. App is called DX/D2 overclocker. I was at 1.3 but I rebooted trying to respond to this. Emulator intimidated me. This is quick and easy. There's an advanced mode that allows you to put in your own settings or just pick one of there's and click apply. Nice.

Installed. Works very nicely. I was doing fine with Beesleys .zip but I couldn't get the GScript commands to work for me. Everytime I'd click on the action it would say something or another about the file not existing. I wouldn't have even looked at this if that had worked, but it was too much hassle to have to go into the terminal all the time and type that out. This is much easier, it's all done for you. And for a buck, well it's cheaper than the paid version of GScript anyhow.

And it says coming soon OC on boot. Nice!

Higher voltage will allow for higher overclock, but it'll also eat more battery life.

It's a tradeoff you'll have to decide which side to take ;)

The Unstable app is more customizable than the jrummy app, you can go to advanced settings and adjust everything individually

I've tried both the 1.2 and 1.3 presets and neither lasted very long. 1.3 shut off while sleeping and 1.2 dies while surfing. Anyway to get these to work?

Not to sound like a complete noob but I don't trust myself tweaking that stuff anyway lol jrummy's is working for me so I think I'll put the iPhone route and say less choices are better here for me. Thanks for giving a comparison between the 2. I like how jrummy has the build props built into his app also.

this app works great. so far all of the presets seem to be stable for me.

Anything over the 1.1 preset is making my phone go into "turtle mode". Is there something I can tweak to get me passed this?

My phone is the same way. I think it is what it is. Fab said his maxes out @ 1.1.. On twitter they had a phone at or close to 2.0.

Did you ever get past 1.1 stable and solid?

    Am I doing something wrong?

After installing this app, I chose 1.1. applied preset.

I ran the quadrant app, got my score, 1400.

then when I go back to the dx/d2 app, the main preset is stock 1.0

is this normal? how do I know if I am at 1.1 or really at 1.0?

Yeah I bought this, but it doesn't seem to stay at the OC level you set it at. Documentation on the developers website is non existent.

    d/l'd JRummy16's Droid x/2 overclock.

Running at 1450/1100/400 mhz using medium voltage and it seems quite stable. I tried to re-create the same problem I had with Fab's overclock, by selecting 1450 using low voltage and sure enough, I froze.

So, now I'm using medium voltage and it seems fine. So, as Fab said, the trade-off is battery life. I am mostly near a plug and own a second 1550 mah oem battery, so it shouldn't be a problem. Also, I can always underclock on demand, now, if I'm going to be away on a trip.

My quadrant score was 1758. Not bad. That's over 300 points higher than without overclocking.

I'm running setCPU, so I can monitor temps. I have it set to automatically underclock if it gets too hot. Good stuff, this. :D

by chance could you post the voltage for that? without any apps ive succesfully reach 1.45ghz and clocked quadrant at 2156

I can if you tell me how I find it!

my phone won't survive anything higher than 1.2 regardless the voltage. 1.45 must be really nice lol. It almost works at 1.25 but it will eventually freeze and require a battery pull.

dope app. very easy to use. Thank you!
  21. Steven58

The other app already has OC on boot, as well as OC'ing to 1450. I like it.
  22. Steven58

Had the other app on medium voltage and 1.45 mhz for the entire day. No problems. Thank goodness.

Now I feel as if I have a complete rooted experience. :D
