Really would like to know what all they did with it. I would go back to stock if I knew there was a way to root it. Can't get the tether to work on the M130 ROM. So wonder if they will allow you to do it on this one.

My son got it on his Commando, nothing of note other than a couple apps removed... :/

my phone has downloaded the update, I deferred installation for 24 hours (the max it would allow). Is there a way to prevent installation, if I don't want the update?

If you are rooted, just find the Update.zip file and delete it... although the phone will probably download it again unless you edit the prop.build file to show you already have it. If you are not rooted, try booting into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik (not sure this is possible on the Commando) or factory default, but the phone will likely download it again soon.

Could someone please find and post the M140 update? I would like to take a look at it during fall break coming up.

I hope someone can get root working on this version. I have some co-workers who wanted to root their phones and clean the excess slop off since they noticed how smooth mine was working. Yesterday during the day, I look at their phones and they were still on M130. I told them that an update was looming and they needed to do it quick. Of course they wanted me to do it for them so I agreed. Made mention to go ahead and do it last night but they wanted to wait till this morning. This morning, I got all setup up and ready. Just before I got ready to do the very first one, I decided one last time to look in their about screen to make sure they were still on M130. Low and behold, their phones had updated to M140 during the night. Now they wished they would have done it last night.

Contrary to a few posts about the update removing some apps, I did not notice anything removed on co-workers phones that had updated

No. I figured it probably would not have worked. Maybe Willster will have some insight as to what part of his guide will or not work.

Last night my phone updated to M140, and I was going to try to root it today. I suppose it's impossible to roll it back?

That's good to know for those who are rooted. Which method did you use to root?

I'm rooted, but I couldn't find the Update.zip. Any ideas on where to look?

So any ideas? I'm getting really sick of getting a daily notice saying there's a update ready, then having it forced upon my phone (which makes it useless for about 10 minutes while it fails at updating).

Is there a way I can make my rooted phone just take updates? To be honest, I don't need it rooted anymore now that the bloatware I needed removed is gone.

    Thanks!

I'm guessing you are on M130? I'm still on M130 and not updating or receiving any update or notices. What I did was backed up InnoPathActiveCare using Titanium Backup then uninstalled it using the same. When you uninstall, it will semi crash not allowing you to be quick enough to hit shut down or reboot due to the popup dialog that it will generate but you can take the back off the phone and pull the battery. Might be a good idea to do a NandBackup prior to the above for a just in case. Can't see where it would be needed but better be safe.

Glad it worked for you. As to the storage destination of the update, I haven't a clue. Maybe someone else will chime in and you can successfully remove it. If I had to guess, I would say the bulk of it might be removed upon unsuccessful update but that's just a guess.

From rootandroid.com yesterday. I don't think I'm going to pay the 39.99 to have them do it if everywhere I look it can't be done.

Yes we can definitely get your device rooted. Please come by the live chat at RootAndroid.Com today so we can begin.

    Thank you,
    Brian

If you want to delete the update file, it is called ipth_updatepackage.bin (or something close) but it is a bin file. If you want to root your m140, the original root method works, but I updated my root method to support m140 and with a .modded boot.img
