Help update the software from 6.0 to ??

I have the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge . It wants me to update the software from 6.0 to ??. I am reluctant because I've heard 7.0 slows things down?

I've been using the official 7.0 update on the S7 Edge for a few months now, with a couple of firmware patches. If anything it's smoother with better battery life.

Ditto. Haven't had any major issues since upgrading to the Verizon flavor of Nougat.
