First time post, just a virgin, be gentle.

If I upgrade my OV from Froyo to Gingerbread (I'm leaning toward CM7), will I lose the multiple home screens? Is there an app out there to add home screens? I realize this is a minor issue to upgrading, but I like this feature!

    any help would be appreciated.

The IHO gingerbread ROM's have multi screen launchers incorporated into them. Which one works best with the ROM you choose might be answered better in the All Things Root sub-forum. They live and breath Modding and have probably tried every combination of ROM's and launchers out there.

I'll go ahead and move you thread over there so you don't have to start another thread.

Iho is a port of cm7 for our phones and at the moment the only gingerbread option however there are quite a few versions to fit your taste.

I use Launcher Pro. One of the many Launchers that will allow the use of 7 screens. It does become less stable with 7 screens, but if your not heavily themed like I am, then it actually is pretty cool. The only one that might be better with the BACKside ROM might have to be left up to the other members to prove.

But why on earth would you want that many? I'm something of a minimalist. One of my reasons for using a custom launcher is so I can delete empty screens I never use. I only use three.

I use two, one is my main and only has my fancy widget that shows the time and weather, the other has folders from folder organizer that sorts my apps into neat folders.

I only use 2 as well. My main screen with a handful of choice apps and my "busy" screen with all my other well used apps.

If you've ever looked at the Quicksilver screen shots, that's my phone as I use it daily. PowerAmp widget one screen to the right, eight shortcuts to the left.
