Saw this earlier. Is it really GB? they don't list alot of decent changes. I'm on the fence for now, or at least for the next few minutes http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/commando.pdf More info: Looking interesting http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/commando_instructions.pdf Ha, Ha. Downloading now. I'll report back. EDIT: Still checking it out, seems smoother over all. Time will tell if battery is improved. A solid install after the 2nd try.
It's installing now. I imagine the UI looks quite a bit better though. Good to hear it's running smoother.
Rafael, did you actually redownload the whole file, because thats what I had to do, not just try to re- install the first download. In any case, good luck with it. I'm diggin' it, enjoying it the more I use it.
Lol, nope. Was wondering earlier where the heck the first file went. I redownloaded the whole mess again also.
Okay, this is just stupid. The only thing I did not restore was the browser because I apparently deleted it somehow... Does anyone have a Titanium Backup copy of the browser they can send me? I think I'm going to call Verizon and let them send me another phone because I just got this thing. This is the same error I got on the other phone for the first update - IP_PREVIOUS_UPDATE_FAILED. I've restored everything, I've even performed the dreaded factory reset and I got nothing. Oh well, time to spend an hour or so on the phone so I can get this thing replaced.
Just did a factory data reset.....trying the update now. Will let you know. If I get it running again, I can send you the Browser.
I think I may have a full Titanium Backup of the Commando if you still need it. I haven't been able to install the new update either, as I have a rooted commando with some of the crap taken off of it. I suppose I'll just have to reinstall everything and start from scratch to get it? Anybody else have any luck getting the update with a rooted commando with or without all of the files?
Has anyone successfully updated a phone that has had Verizon crapware removed? If not I can hopefully system reset and get Verizon to swap it. I've had it less than 30 days.
