The update was for certain bug fixes and I heard, yet haven't seen, that it also removes Carrier IQ. Most likely since Sprint has announced it will be putting the Marque on the EOL (End of Life) list at the end of this month that we will not see an official HC or ICS ROM. Possible one day that a dev may decide to make a Custom ROM that will be as close to it as we can, but that is not certain.

Need help. I used to have my LG marquee rooted and after a update from boost now I cant get any permission of superuser. Anybody can help me? Also need detailed instruccions because I am new on this and I am not a computer geek. Thanks. If some body give me his email, I will send a report of my Root Check Pro. Also will donate.

If you install the update from boost, you lose root and there is no exploit to allow the updated version to be rooted. Only way is to go back to pre-update state by restoring a cwm backup or flashing back to original stock and then updating using one of the modified update zip files available on this forum: http://androidforums.com/marquee-all-things-root/527372-boost-zvc-zv4_21-cwm-flashable-update.html. Good luck.

we will NEVER see HC for this device. As Bionic says maybe one day someone will cook a ICS ROM.....

but even if there is, whats the point?? what will be the benefit?? ICS was made for a device w/ a dual core processor. The Marquee's single core operating system most likely will not benefit much.

What does ICS have that you want & can't get w/ this phone?? A different look/interface??

With the EOL announcement, the only updates I see this phone ever getting would be Gingerbread or Network enhancements, bug issues, etc. Not a major OS update or overhaul like ICS.

I still say don't hold your breath.

Odd, I updated and still have Carrier IQ. It made my score lower went from 700's to 400's. I am not quite sure what to think of this update overall..

Hell, mine has attempted update twice with no luck. Update does not go through. I will trade my root access for the fix to the power cycles happening during calls.

Stock Recovery will not install custom ZIP files. If you installed the OTA update, you can't flash back either due to that. This phone like most other android phones does have a "Download Mode". But Odin is the only app I know that makes use of that mode and it seems Odin was aimed more towards Samsung phone since there is no OPS file for this phone right now.

i have a sprint lg marquee and had root untill the update was pushed through. root worked fine untill the update then everything went downhill. i used root checker to conform root and it said no root yet google movies says im rooted. su cannot be deleted and the su file and all other files in the root/system/bin folder are gone. root/system/app has superuser.apk and root/system/xbin has su. im looking to return my phone back to stock.

jonny, I assume you are on Sprint, since you have the model LS855. You can reflash the stock Sprint ZV9 firmware by following these steps:
[GUIDE] Flash your phone back to stock

    Install CWM

Then apply Blood or Monster's ZVC rom to keep root/cwm through the update.
