Hi there guys, I bought my Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone it June of this year, and remember messing arounde with it and updated it using some instructions on here, can't really remember what I exactly did, so I'll post what I see on my phone in the "About phone section" under "Settings".

    Model number: GT-I9100
    Android version: 2.3.3
    Baseband version: I9100XXKE4
    Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKE7-CL215725
    root@DELL103 #2
    Build number: GINGERBREAD.XWKE7

Basically, I have backed up everything from the phone I need to back up (music, photos, videos, etc) on my PC.... How do I get this phone exactly how it was out of the box when I bought it, as if it is new again?

We'd have to determine which country/carrier you got it on. Do your remember the original firmware it came with? Might want to just flash the stock UK unbranded firmware, then do a factory rest to purge all of your data/settings. If you want to go that route, you'll need Odin and the file linked below.

I bought the phone from eBay, but it was brand new and sealed, and I am sure it must have had the standard UK firmware.

What can you te3llk by looking at the things I noted in the above post? Does it look fairly standard. I want to get more battery life out of the phone, how can I do this?

Awhile back I ordered 2 SGS2 models from different sources. The Latin America version came with a US wall charger. The UK model came with a Euro wall charger and a microsim adapter. So, if you had the latter, then you have some form of Euro model (likely UK).

If you run odin with the update I gave you, you'll have the most recent official firmware for the UK, and you'll be able to receive UK updates through Kies. That version I linked has very good battery life.

Hi, thanks again. Yeah it's definitely the UK version - microsim, UK charger etc.... So, I've forgotten how you do the Odin thing, is there an "idiot" guide out there on how to do this from start to finish? Why do I also have tothen reset the phone after this - and how exactly do I do that?

Guide to using Odin (includes download link)

WARNING: Make sure you follow the directions. Do NOT check the items that they warn you about or you WILL brick your phone 100% guaranteed. Your odin screen should look exactly like the one in the example.

    As for resetting the phone, well, you said you wanted it to be like it was new out of the box. This is how you do it;
    1. Go to settings
    2. Privacy
    3. Factory data reset
    4. check the box for "format USB storage"
    5. hit the "Reset phone" button

Hi, one last thing, which is the best/most reliable/best battery life firmware available right now for the Samsung Galaxy S2? I have heard 2.3.4 has less issues that 2.3.5 (the latter has some camera problem?)?

I've only tried KK2 and heard that KK5 was better, but KK2 had some stability issues for me. KI4 has been the most stable for me. I didn't even wipe anything before installing KI4 back over KK5, and it's still been a rock.
