So I got my N1 yesterday and am so far loving it. It's everything I hoped my G1 to be. Not that I didn't like my G1, but after 15 months it was starting to show its age. Anyways, I figured there probably needs to be a discussion on how we will get updates for our N1. Let's face it, the N1 is different from every other Android phone on the market now in that, it's not really supported by a carrier. Sure, T-Mob is the starting carrier for official support, but really this is Google's baby. So while the G1 and MyTouch are often graced with updates OTA via T-Mob, I probably wouldn't expect the same treatment for the H1, especially since the phone isn't even branded with them. So does this mean we can expect updates over the web? From Google? Perhaps the Google.com/phone website... Or does it fall to HTC to supply the updates? If it's the latter I think we may be in trouble. HTC still hasn't updated many of their Sense UI phones and if they don't go the distance for their own skinned OS why would they go the distance for a phone that's just being made by them. Anyways, does anybody have any thoughts or perhaps knowledge of where we might be getting future firmware and software updates?
