...but will be the first to blame them when something happens to it.
I suppose that depends on if it is my fault or not.

Does anyone else see some hope in the announcement from Motorola:
WARNING: Do NOT load the leaked 2.2 upgrade that has been floating around on the Internets. There is currently no upgrade path from that load to the official 2.2 load that will be released by early September. Unless you have some plan to flash your phone back to the current official load, you could be stuck on the leaked version.
It says there "currently" is no upgrade path and you "could" be stuck with the leaked version.
It doesn't sound 100% to me like there will never be a patch or update available.
It's not going to be a OTA update for those of us already at 2.2 because how can you upgrade to the same version you have ..... I'm sure the versions will be the same so Moto can only count on recognizing 2.1 X's, therefore their statement is not false that those with 2.2 currently may not be able to get the OTA update without reverting back to 2.1
Lol, somebody that gets it.
no kidding. all these angry people baffle me. motorola is simply not going to divert the time/money/manpower figuring out how to get the OTA to the people on 2.2. instead, they're gonna get it out to all the people who dont know how to flash software on their phones so we ALL can have it sooner.
and, to the people actually upset at verizon for the time they are taking to release the 2.2 OTA. currently they have one phone that comes with 2.2, and 2 others that either have already been given, or are about to get the update, and another one coming within the next couple weeks.
what other carrier has that many phones out in the wild with 2.2? as a matter of fact, id be willing to bet the other 3 dont have as many total phones with 2.2 combined.
I've already updated to the unofficial 2.2 some days back and downgraded to the 2.1 then rooted and been there for a couple days. This thread makes me want to do it all over again just for the hell of it.
Can someone explain the BIG deal about Froyo? Can anyone be specific about the REAL benefit they've "Experienced" with the leaked Froyo, over the stock! Thanks.

Every time I see this thread's title ("Motorola says no OTA updates for you") I'm reminded of this:
