Hello everyone. The Ally is my first Android phone and to be honest, I absolutely love it. I have rooted (Using AllyRR), and have installed a custom rom (Velocity0.1.1).
I am interested in trying the "USB Host" that I have heard about and was wondering how to do it.

    Thanks in advance.

So far I haven't heard anything.

IIRC Trident did not include USB Host drivers in the Velocity .1/.2 releases.

Just out of curiosity, what would you find useful about using a USB peripheral?

HOnestly, I don't know. I am one of those people who loves/has to tinker with stuff and see what all it can do. I guess I was looking into using like a jumpdrive to store mostly movies on it since I only have a 4g card. would that even be possible?

If we can get a kernel/rom setup with the USB Host drivers it is very much possible they did it for the droid after all.

Just a matter of whether of not any Devs decide its worth the time/hassle

Ok. SO that picture where they Jerry RIgged it up basically, Will that work for the LG Ally. It says in the article about tricking the phone into doing it?

IIRC you still need the host drivers which I don't believe any ally roms have

I am just saying, theoretically, if thre were drivers, would it be possible to use say a thumb drive to store movies?
