    Hello

I have a problem with my usb-connection to use with some apps. When I plug in a usb stick with an otg-cable my device recognizes it on my tablet (nvidia shield) so i can browse in a pre installed app. Also in the app ES File explorer it shows the usb device.

I also would like to use in it a folder music player like music folder player and others. The problem is I can only browse the files on the internal memory of my tablet and can't see the usb folder.

Anyone has a solution for this, much appriciated.

    Kind regards,
    J6

Use a third-party player that can browse removable media instead of the stock player. Rocket Player definitely does, it's what I use.

Hi thanks for the quick response. Rocket player and file manager won't work neighter. I don't think the actual app is the problem. I would rather think it's a setting.

By the way I'm on android 6.0 (rooted).

You don't use the file manager. You use rocket player to navigate to the external device.

But that doesn't seem to work. When I go into the folders section of rocket player I only can see storage/emulated/0 and no USB-device.

The thing is I can see the usb-device in ES Folder Explorer. But can't see it in any other app like Music Folder player, Rocketplayer or File Manager HD.

Thanks for the comments so far.

ES Folder Explorer contains software to access USB devices that the OS does not recognize.

I think the operating system does recognize the USB, because when i plug in the usb-stick, a usb logo appears on top. When i click on it, I can click through to explore (app: system UI).
