i would like to tether through usb on my phone to a cpu
If you aren't rooted there are a few apps that you can use to accomplish this. PDAnet is one, it's free for a trial period, then you have to pay. Another option is to root your phone, and install one of the available apps for rooted phones.
Is your phone rooted?
What software version are you running?
Once we have a little more info we may be able to help you figure out rooting if you're interested.
cm also put out a free app that does usb tethering for non root users. Check it out on the Google play store
Prior to rooting Klink was my favorite
i am rooted and the tether app in the play store is not working for some reason
and i am updated to the newest software
What ROM are you on? You should be able to use the hotspot
im on stock rom
I would recommend flashing another ROM (maybe MikG 3.11). Most custom ROM's have the hotspot hacked.
Have you tried Wireless Tether?
