Hi all, I'm thinking of purchasing an android tablet to use in place of a laptop for an in-car PC project I'm working on.

So far it seems that even a cheap android tablet does everything a car PC should do, bluetooth, gps, internet, wifi, etc.. but one thing I want is the ability to connect a USB webcam to use as a reversing camera. The tablet I'm after DOES have usb ports, but they are designed for flash drives and keyboards.

I am fairly new to deep tinkering with android... I've made a few apps, and im getting used to the way things work, but I am guessing that a primarily phone based OS will not be designed to work with USB devices such as webcams - i.e. no driver support.

Anybody know if this is possible, and if so, how? The closest post I could find to this suggested compiling a custom version of the kernel using a linux based driver, which I am sorry to say is beyond my knowledge at this point.

    Thanks all!

    - Chris.
