I set it up so that i can boot from a micro sd card but im really having trouble understanding the advantages of using honeycomb over using the android market place that i already set up for the nook color also will it be possible to run honeycomb in a nonpreview format in the near future or is that just a pipedream

It won't be possible to have true Honeycomb until Google releases its source code.

Honeycomb has more eye candy (which makes it slower), is less stable and doesn't use official Google source code yet. Best to flash a rom based on CM7. Phiremod 6.2 is great.
