Use CM Power Control widget with other roms?

I have just moved to Miui from CM6.1 as I fancied a change while I wait for the Gingerbread ROMs to get to a level of maturity I am comfortable with.

I have a terrible 3G connection at home, so I normally turn off 3G as soon as I get home. I sometimes have to do this when I am out and about too...so I loved the configurable power control widget that is supplied with Cyanogen. The main reason being that it is a real toggle.

I have tried a number of widgets, but they all link to the mobile data options rather than toggling between 3G and 2G directly.

Does anyone know of a widget that will do this, or if there is a way I could get the one shipped with CM working?

    :)

    Cheers

Sure, but GV is based on CM (I thought) and obviously CM7 is CM...I wanted to know if there was a way to get the proper 3G toggle from those roms and install it with eMiui (or any other rom to be fair)

There are surely plenty for free on the Market.

Yup, but none of them are toggles - they all link to the options page.

    Nope. Built from source

I may be mistaken but thought I saw a mod like this on xda.

Can't check right now. Is xda down?

Its an option in the kitchen too if you feel like customising it further.

GV is not cyanogen based, its aosp with cynogen parts added later

    EDIT:
anywhere i thought there was a 2g/3g toggle when you scrolled across (with notification control is scrollable) cant remember now

Which suggests that CM parts can be added to non-CM roms....the question is how...would it simply be to strip the widget from the CM Rom and ADB push it to Miui? Or am I likely to end the world and worse, brick my phone?

Take a nandroid backup and take cmparts.apk out of a cm build. Then push it to system/app. You then have a backup to restore.

If you use clockwork you can backup and restore>Advanced restore>System, just restoring system

I have no idea if this will work though, it may need more than just the apk.

    Thanks for that SUroot.

I gave it a go, no joy unfortunately - It didn't cause any crashes, but the widget wasn't there, nor could I access any options. Not surprising really, but it was worth a shot.

hmm i think there are framework.res tweeks and other stuff that feeds into cmparts
you would need to speak to someone who builds roms like the crack team, RT, adamG as they build roms from the ground up. RT and crack have both build roms with cyanogen integration
