Use firestick to play content over the internet on someone elses TV

Hi,

My elderly in-laws are shielding from Covid-19. I have a spare firestick and wondered if it would be possible to setup the device on their TV and internet, and then be able to stream a video to it? The video is of a local church service.

Many thanks for any help

Andy

This sounds like a conditional matter -- how adept are your in-laws at with setting up that spare Fire Stick? As you had to do with yours, it needs to be connected to their TV, install the Amazon Fire TV app on a locally connected mobile device to manage it, and then it's just a matter of being able to view streaming content. If this set up process is doable for them, just mail them this Fire Stick and as long as this church service is accessible to them online they should be OK.
Is this church service a live broadcast or is it downloadable file? If it's a matter of you having to do the set up process remotely, that could be an issue. They would have to do the physical hook up of your Fire Stick on their end and if you use a remote desktop solution, like TeamViewer as a good example, you can do the software-related tasks from home.
