    That's not a problem. ;)

Do you have the link to that specific thread? I've been looking around there and was only able to find the announcement of the E3D from 2 months ago.

Does the phone stay cool in your hand? I can feel the sustained CPU load of my DX by how hot the thing is.

I was actually just thinking about it. It actually gets pretty warm just from normal use, but it doesn't get a whole lot warmer when you do more labor intensive things.

I like it a lot! It seems to get better signal than my Evo 4G, it's SO MUCH FASTER (realize that this is a qualitative analysis :p). I love the camera button. I love the 3D.

I don't really care for the 2D/3D slider. It's too stiff, and seems too single purposed. I imagine that's largely personal preference though. My biggest issue so far is really the development of 3D content for the device. Blockbuster, HTC Watch, and Gameloft really dropped the ball as far as indicating what is 3D content. I have a 3D phone! That means I want to get some cool 3D stuff to play with. But I have yet to figure out how to differentiate between content types. Also, I still can't get The Green Hornet to play. It hangs on a downloading license dialog box. Others have had it work right away for them, though, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

And I haven't rooted. I don't really plan to yet. I don't want to risk losing any of the unique functionality of the phone, and I also want to stay true to the trial program who gave me the phone. I think they're looking for honest feedback about the stock phone.

Assigning a rating is tough. I really like the phone, but I'm not sure if the 3D content issue is really something I can attribute to the phone. It definitely makes for a lesser user experience, so I'd probably give it 8/10.

P.S. Youtube, on the other hand, is great about indicating 3D content! I've been watching so many pointless videos...

its a shiny new toy, we will all love it and oohh and ahhh over it for a few days.. possibly a week. then after the novelty wears off, the issues some cant stand will pop up here. typical wash/rinse/repeat cycle. i enjoy the evo to this day and have only used maybe 40% of what it can do after all this time. i just like gadgets and am an early adopter of tech.

this 3d version of the evo will not save the world nor will it rescue a cat from a burning building, but its a pretty cool gadget with some cool gimmicks to hold us over until the next flavor appears..

When I got it? Probably a 10 (coming from a touch pro).

Now? More like a 6.5 (so many better phones).

    first.. i hate you!

second... how do you feel about the screen shape change? it is narrower, taller than the 4G.

third... can you see if you can do call and data over 3G?

forth.. the camera cover... glass or plastic? your guess?

fifth.. i hate you. did i say that already? :p

How is the camera lens looking while placed on a table. I'm worried about scratches.

My Evo 4G is still a solid 8. I'm hoping, but skeptical, that the Evo 3D can be rated the same or better.

I saw in the manual that it's using a different app to open Microsoft Office docs (and it looks like we can edit them now!)

Can you try to open and edit a Word doc?

Thanks! Getting warm is just the nature of computers. I just feel like I could fry an egg on my DX if I run a game for 20 minutes.

    I rank my Evo 4G a 9.

For what it is, it will always be a 9.

If someone were to ask me what I would rate my old 8-bit NES, I would give it a score of 9 today. Would be a 10 if I didn't have to blow into the cartridges after a year of ownership.

Who ever thinks that this phone isn't a huge upgrade to the original evo is gravely mistaken. I will try and give a little review after a few hours of use.

8-bit NES would be so high because all of the games made for it were original. They didn't have a heck of a lot to copy.

And, to this day, I have not used a video game gun as well made as the Zapper. They're always really big and very cheaply made. Outside of an arcade game gun, that is.

This phone will not do call/data simultaneously over 3g. You must have 4g on and connected to do that. It's a CDMA limitation.

Edit: Let me also add that you can do simultaneous voice/data if you are connected to WiFi as well (basically WiMax is just a glorified WiFi network)
