Help Using Milestone on AT&T 3G

I love my old Droid but need to switch from Verizon to AT&T. I would like the "same" phone & understand the early Milestone is a GSM version of my Droid, so it should work - at least for voice & text. But what about 3G data? AT&T uses, I think, 850 & 1900. (Is this true?)

The unlocked Milestone I'm looking at says it works on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 (Quadband) WCDMA (UMTS) 900/2100 but does this mean it has what I need? I see both numbers, 850 & 1900, but they're listed as GSM frequencies, not UMTS. Does this mean this phone has no AT&T 3G coverage in the US? Or can I use it? Or if I can't use it as-is, can it be modified to function fully?

Thanks
