using my phone as a wifi hotspot

hi im running 2.2 on my wildfire and have a unlimited data allowence but it says i cant tether my pc to it i know it works ok but im worried my network will find out is there a way round this problem so that they cant find out that ive tethered my phone to the pc?

i dnt think the network actully fully looks into it unless your full going nuts with the downloads
