Using phone with MacBook Pro - Help!

Hello!

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy s3 after using a iPhone 3G for yeeears. I am loving it! Definitely much more impressed with it than the iPhone!

I am using a mac computer and I am having trouble figuring out the best way to keep stuff from my phone backed up on my computer.

I used Easy Sync to transfer photos and contacts from my iPhone to my s3 which worked really well, but now I am wondering how do I make sure that any new contacts I add are backed up somewhere (anywhere) but ideally in address book on my mac?

I have briefly looked at Kies which seems to be good to use with music and videos so I am not worried about that.

I have drop box to use free for two years so that is perfect for pictures.

I do sort of wish there was one single application I could use to sync the whole lot, just like itunes does with iPhones.

Any general advice for use with a mac would be greatly appreciated

One additional question which will show you how much I don't know about these things...but can I just use Kies to put any kind of .avi file on my phone to watch? Or is there some special format it needs to be in?

I used smooth sync and it takes care of my cloud ical and my contacts, once i chose smothsync as default I never had to look at it again.

I don't have icloud. Will smooth sync still sync new contacts from the phone to my address book?

You really should give Kies a try... it comes on the phone and you can download it for your Mac, as long as you aren't on Mountain Lion..

True - I was really happy with Kies until I took the Mountain Lion upgrade. Now it won't work. Hoping Samsung fixes this soon. Using Dropbox in the interim...
