    Hi,
I can see a mike icon in my android (Froyo 2.2.1) samsung galaxy SL keypad and I know there are speech to text settings as well, which I have already set to ON. Now when I click on the mike icon on the keypad, I get a connection error popup.

Is there anything else that needs to be done for using speech to text while typing sms ?

Pls suggest, as this would be the most used feature for me.

    Thanks
    Omkar

I get connection errors when I try to use Voice to Text in marginal coverage areas. Do you have a nice strong tower signal? Evidently the database for Voice to Text is not on the phone & has to be pulled down.

You need to have your data connection active(ie. your phone's internet active) to use this feature. It doesnt have anything to do with your mobile's signal strength.

    Bang on Puree.
Voice support is only possible when you have data connection mode On (either wi-fi or 2g or 3g)
