I've searched but not found any definitive solution. On 3 UK phones, they have their own custom version of Skype that loads up on boot-up. This poxy app is forever force closing when I open messaging and I want to know if there is a way I uninstall it or even stop it from loading on boot? Obviously if I root the phone I can, but then I lose the option to use their version of messenger which is great.

    Any help appreciated.

PS: 2.2 is not yet available for download so I don't know if this bug has been fixed or is even known about.

hi, that sounds weird, to be honest you can either try a program like startup cleaner, which is Free and avaialble in the market, or if its bothering you that much, take the hit on the messenger, as the only definitive way is to root your device and delete the app that way.

I've since installed the 2.2.1 generic ROM and then just browsed to Three homepage and installed Skype. Now it works 100% without ever crashing.
