V20 won't turn on

My wife's V20 turned off while sitting on a shelf today, and will not turn back on. She hadn't installed any new apps. She showed some pictures to a friend, then set the phone down.

She said it felt hot when she picked it up later and found it off.

The battery is charged (I put it in another V20 and checked).

I tried leaving the battery out and leaving the phone in a cool place for 30 minutes. When I put the battery back in and press the power button, the phone gives a quick buzz for a fraction of a second, but that's it. The screen stays dark and the phone doesn't show any sign of life.

I tried holding Volume Down while pressing power, and get the same result, so I can't get to Recovery Mode.

Does anyone have any ideas?

could be a bad battery. did you switch the battery since you have another v20?

Have you tried plugging it into the charger and then turning it on?

The idea that it got hot while not being used, and now is unresponsive does not sound good- not good at all.

LG V20

1. To turn the phone on, press and hold the Power/Lock Key.
2. To turn the phone off, press and hold the Power/Lock Key.
3. Tap Power/Off.
4. Tap Power/Off.
5. To restart the phone, press and hold the Power/Lock Key.
6. Tap Power Off and Restart.
7. Tap Restart
