Any chance you could go through the unrooting procedure again and then the bootloader lock? I would like to see your entire command list and the outputs. Paste the whole thing to pastebin and post it so we can see what's going on.

    Sorry for the late reply,

So use the one click toolkit to flash stock and then OEM lock? Or should I do it manually?

I guess I was hoping to see it done manually. Because I'd like you to paste the entire session with the command prompt. Including the attempt to relock after you're back at stock or what SHOULD be back at stock in your case.

Here it is, flashing stock and then lock

After the last command to flash stock the phone automatically rebooted and went into bootloop. I let it sit for a while then had to unplug and put back in bootloader mode to execute the lock command

Ok, well that looks pretty much perfect. Only possible exception is the breakneck times for wiping userdata/cache. Almost seems like it's not actually trying to perform those actions in reality, especially the cache wipe. Kinda grasping at straws though to be honest.

I don't know, this one is very strange. I think I'm going to have to confer with the cyrstal ball b/c it feels like it's going to take some magic to fix this sob.

They might be fast bc I had essentially nothing user installed on the phone? IDK. let me know if you find anything out!

    Namrak,
    What's the longest you've waited after a re-lock attempt?

Last time I timed it, a solid 12 minutes (1.5 minutes plugged into comp, and then unplugged for the rest).

Although yours was really the first time I'd heard of this...in an odd stroke of (maybe luck), I conferred with a bud of mine who just happened to have experienced a similar thing. He said he just waited out the relock loops and after 20 mins (best recollection), it just decided to boot. In short, I would lock again and wait it out. As in up to 30 mins or more.

If that doesn't work, I might try a similar wait after trying the return to stock method one more time. I kind of thought that much time might be fruitless but I have a great deal of faith in this individual. He's not even in the ballpark of being a noob. So if it can happen to him, maybe it could happen to you as well. Fingers crossed.

Sweet! Thanks for the tip. Can you confirm how much of that boot time was spent plugged in/plugged out of comp?

Plugged into PC for the entire duration.

What I would have done: Trow it against the wall, if that helps!
I hate when something goes wrong and you get the feeling in your stomach that it will never get fixed. But just be patient and you will find a way, this phone is almost impossible to completely mess up.

Alright, just finished flashing stock again. Now it's time to wait...

    iowabowtech root@android:/ #

    Did you lock?

No, bc after the mysid.zip flash it automatically reboots...am I doing this correctly? My phone is showing as unlocked, And I flashed stock and then wait?

    iowabowtech root@android:/ #

Well, that is worth a try also. The way his actually snapped back was after he did the OEM lock. Then he waited it out as it looped. I used the term "relock" above, maybe wasn't the best choice of words on my part.

after the fastboot oem lock the device doesn't autmomatically restart, should i selects start on the bootloader mode after performing the lock so it can reboot?

  18. iowabowtech

    iowabowtech root@android:/ #

Yes. Or fastboot reboot, either way.

I really need to lock this thing back up. What are my chances of getting charged if I send it back and get a replacement..

Haven't heard of anybody being in that boat but I wouldn't be planning on favorable results if it were me. I just can't get OVER the fact you can't lock this bootloader. That is nuts to me.

Would I have better chances if I went into a store? Can they even exchange it at the store? (I'm past the 14 day return or whatever)

No, they will make you call customer service and request a replacement.

    Namrak,

Hey mate! One last question / idea...

Did you ever try using the 4.0.1 stock / factory images to restore?

Perhaps there's an issue in the 4.0.2 bootloader, etc. that is keeping you from re-locking, etc., and that the 4.0.1 ones might have better success... Worth a short, anyways...

Give it a try if you haven't already and let us know...

    Cheers!
