Root [Verizon] LG G2 Un Rooting Problem, ER:0x1117008

I rooted my Verizon LG G2, model number VS980 4G. This was a couple months ago before Kit Kat was out and before I knew anything about rooting. I tried uninstalling the root by simply uninstalling SU and all my rooted apps. When I tried to update it gave me ER: 0x1117008 and wouldn't let me update. The thing is that all root checkers and anytime I will try to use a rooted app it says I'm not rooted but in settings - about phone it states that my phone status is rooted.

Only thing I've seen clear the root flag is flashing the stock firmware as described here:

Same pretty much goes for unrooting for OTA purposes. kdz or tot back to stock seems to be about the only way to get things clean enough to allow an OTA to pass through.
