Verizon Return Policy: Confused?

I am a bit confused with Verizon's return policy for the holiday season. I read here on the forum that you have 30 days to return or exchange your new phone. However I ordered my Droid on the 18th and in the confirmation email it said:

Holiday Returns: All purchases made between November 15 and December 14, 2009 may be returned or exchanged through January 13, 2010. All other provisions of Verizon Wireless' Return and Exchange policy continue to apply.

That seems to be almost 60 days if you ordered on November 15th. The reason I ask is because if the Passion. If it DOES come out within that time and I like it better than the Droid can I exchange it past 30 days?

you have until jan 13.. it's not that complicated.. VZ wants people to buy phones for christmas, knowing full well that some of them won't be "gifted" until dec 25..

if you buy a phone before nov 15th or after dec 14th, you have 30 days to return the phone. if you buy a phone between nov 15th-dec 14th, you have until jan 13th.

So if I decide I don't like the DROID and want to exchange it for a non-smartphone will I be able to get out of the data part of the plan? I'll be converting 4 lines over to Verizon in Dec and will only be getting one DROID, others don't need them and don't want to get locked into a plan I may not use.

I can't find documenation of an extended return policy and have asked a Verizon employee who said this was not true.
If anyone finds documenation on the return extension time, could you please include a hyperlink?

It's actually printed on my receipt from when I bought the phone in a VZ store.

I have the confirmation email Verizon sent me when I purchased my Droid. If by some slim chance I decide to return my Droid it is printede there clear as day...

By the anyone has given any thoughts to what other phone can replace DROID? I need data plan (email/web). Planning to return it if 12/11 updates do not solve most irritating problems.

So if you bought the Eris on 11/15, you have until January 13th? Its tripping me up cuz it says between Nov 15...so is that inclusive, or start Nov 16?

from talking to a customer rep, they say you can only return it on jan 13, if you haven't activated your phone for over 30 days.
