He keeps pointing people to the same thread I linked above, but that doesn't help if I can't get that to work. Been sitting here refreshing my screen, waiting for someone to see/know/help. Guess this is how I'm spending my evening, if I want a working phone again by tomorrow.

For folks experience battery drain with Liquid/Franco, let your phone die completely until it shuts down, then charge it with the power OFF. It isn't my normal ICS/AOKP battery life of 18 hours, but I've managed to squeeze 8 hours out of this day with 4G and GPS on. Its currently sitting at 28%. Yesterday I couldn't keep a charge for anything, so this is definitely a major improvement for me.

Are there any reports in that AOKP is working on a ROM for this? I'm sure they are. I would just like an official word from that team.

I have no idea how to get a Google Now card for a sports team. I have tried searching, voice searching, using Chrome, using the stock browser. Nothing. I must have searched 50 times over the last day. You would think that it would have figured I liked the Tigers. lol

I only did one voice search of the Yankees game and now they're one of my cards. I'm not quite sure how to manually set anything up with it.

Maybe we could sticky this somehow? Courtesy of TeeX in Rootzwiki:

    "Hi All,

New here to RootWiki, but not new to ROMs/flashing/etc. Haven't taken the dive yet (no time - watching my 5 month old while the wife is out of town) - however, I have been keeping up on the thread since yesterday evening. And the one thing I notice is the same questions a million times over. To help with that, I thought I'd take some time to find the most recurring questions, and create an FAQ (jdkoreclipse, please feel free to copy this and place it somewhere near the top of the thread, so others have a point of reference, instead of "around page 230").

Hope you guys find this helpful!

Before asking a question, do the following:
    Read the list below.
If your answers not there, use the search function.
Still can't find it? Ask! :)

    ITEM #1

Before you do ANYTHING, it is recommended to back-up EVERYTHING on the SDCard partition to your PC. This is incase you have the unfortunate luck of needing to revert your phone back to stock (using the Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit), thus losing all the data on your phone.

If I'm coming from another ROM (ICS or other JB), do I need to do a full wipe?

According to others posted here, yes. This seems to be the safest way to ensure that nothing gets "polluted" when migrating to JB.
To make sure that everything is wiped, do the following (from Droidx0351):
Make sure you have NON-TOUCH CWM (, available here: http://download.cloc....5.0.4-toro.img
    Download SuperWipe.zip here: http://db.tt/WsFTNfoF
    Flash SuperWipe.zip with CWM
    Flash current JB ROM

If I'm coming from another version of jdkoreclipse's JB, do I need to do a full wipe?

According to others posted here, you can flash dirty over previous versions.

Can I flash the JB ROM & goodies in the same recovery session?

    NO. Do the following:
    Flash current JB ROM
    Start-up & set-up phone (at least set-up google account)
    Reboot into recovery
    Flash Goodies zip

What do I do if I'm getting bootloops/can't revert back to nandroid?

Before anything else, please LOOK TO ITEM #1!

If you cannot get out of bootloop or cannot load nandroid, try the following:
Make sure you have NON-TOUCH CWM (, available here: http://download.cloc....5.0.4-toro.img
    Download SuperWipe.zip here: http://db.tt/WsFTNfoF
    Flash SuperWipe.zip with CWM
Then, either flash the JB ROM again, or flash your nandroid.

If that does not work, unfortunately, you'll need to use Wugfresh's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit (here: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1693892). You'll need to get your phone back to stock, then re-root and start all over again. Also, YOU'LL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA. So, once again, see ITEM #1.

How to I add features from the Popcorn Kernel scripts?

    (From big007hed)
Get Terminal emulator from the Play Store
    su [enter]
    popcorn [enter]

Are there other mods I can add to JB?

    (From dhy8386)
    FastGlowKeys-v5 (flashable) - http://www.mediafire...tKeysMod-v5.zip
Beats Audio (through modified DSP Manager) [Note: replaces your music app so you lose the new one] - http://forum.xda-dev...829&postcount=1
Nexus 7 Boot Animation (JaeKar99) (flashable)

Thanks for the kernel/battery info. For clarity are you running v2.1?

Roman and team kang will begin working on an AOKP rom based off Googles source code for JB as soon as Google drops it. That's their MO

I just finished flashing JD's v2.1. So far so good. I'm rather amazed how smooth it all is. The Google Now voice assistance is pretty damn awesome as well.

My only complaint (so far) is that I wish they'd take the cue from of the custom home/launcher apps out there and adding in some of the more desirable options into the stock launcher.

    Thank you Chief!!!

This solved my Google Now issues with it not having cards. Manage Web History was not on for me. So turning it on and then turning off Google Now, then turning it back on and searching did the trick!!!! Although it has been cool to keep asking Google Now when the tigers are playing, at least now I can ask it something else.

I am excited to see what kind of cards come up for me now. Am I going to get any good suggesitons for lunch places, etc...

I am excited to see how quickly the Google Now voice assistant grows. Right now, it will only speak back to you on certain things; like weather, sports, height of space needle.

I asked it how tall was the tallest man in the world, and other questions, and many times it just pulls up a webpage for me.

But man is it an awesome tool, and can't wait to see where it goes. If Majel bests this, then oh my...

I wonder if the main problems of crashing (bricking) phones might be that this was ported from GSM and not 100% true CDMA?

I'm loving JB so far. The only issues i run into is app compatibility. My Moboplayer wont work and none of my "change permissions" apps either. I can't live without Lucky Patcher!

Were you guys able to run Lightflow on JB? For some reason it wasn't working on mine and I use it to check what notifications I have without having to turn the screen on at work. Also contacts should theoretically be loaded automatically right? Is there anything I have to do to back them up and restore them since only my G+ friends show up in my contacts list

So does the non touch CWM fix the issue with flashing older nandroids? I was in a boot loop after initially flashing jb. Tried flashing my aokp nandroid and it failed. Eventually I tried reflashing jb and I got everything to work. I'm just concerned that if I try to do a new backup for jb, or reflash one of my aokp nandroids that I will be back in a boot loop. I have touch CWM currently. So long story sorry....should I just go non touch CWM?

Is it possible that the radio you're on is the common denominator? I'm on 4.0.4 radios and had zero problems.
  16. jbdan

It's a known issue with LF and JB, the LF dev is working on it from what I read.

I use cwm touch and have not had one issue after numerous flashes and restores (knocks hard on wood :p). Please make a backup of your /sdcard to your PC

The common denominators that I have seen over the past 24 hrs are:
    - v3 by JD had the most issues.
    - JB (or at least some of them) used a different mount/partition system (/storage/sdcard0) and that's been the root cause for some soft bricks. Also caused issues restoring an ICS nandroid. Above my head
    - rebooting while plugged in to USB (tons of peeps report this)
    - a couple of much more knowledgeable than me folks @ rootz and xda have laid it out about the data structure of JB, but I can't find it atm as the JB threads are on fire and grow too fast for me to keep up. Essentially what it boils down to is this is hackery and we must take precautions when giving it a go :)

Jelly Belly v1.2 has the bootloop issue fixed. Even though some have reported abnormally long boot times after a power down then turn on. Some have not been patient enough while on Google logo, pulled battery, rebooted into a big bowl of bootloops and claimed "softbrick". Jelly Belly requires a separate gapps flash unlike all the others. jakeday the developer of Belly says 1.3 should be straight with all this boot business.

It's random for sure, kind of like how kernels work for some and stink for others. Device and/or wipe method dependent. Seems to be the MO of these hacked roms as well.

Well, I gave it my best try, folks.

I restored my phone fine, JB is fast and smooth... but as soon as I started restoring things my Nexus went into perpetual bootloops (this was after I went back in and flashed goodies).

I'm happy for you guys with no issues. Enjoy. I have to flash Super Wipe and nandroid back to AOKP.

I'll tell you what, Jbdan, this thing is ripping me a new one.

"error restoring data" on my nandroid? After Super Wipe?

If this thing doesn't restore I am going to be ILL.

Jbdan, I hit "edit" instead of "quote". I am SO sorry I overwrote your post. Please forgive.

    I hope it helps others.

That v5 JB ROM jacked my phone big time. I couldn't restore any nandroid backup... /data restore failed every time.

I had to flash all the way back to stock with the Toolkit, unlock, re-root and restore my nandroid. Now it's restoring like a dream... the only thing I'll need to do is re-populate my internal memory with my pics, vids, movies, etc. Which I BACKED UP to the PC before this drama started.

  24. jbdan

    jbdan Extreme Android User

Wow sorry you had that happen. And don't worry about my post you overwrote I had just stated that I was sorry you were having problems with JB and said thanks for giving it the "old college try" :)

Guess the rooting Lords have been with me as I've flashed and restored too many times to count from JB back to ICS without any issues.

Ok, first problem. I was so paranoid about something happening I decided to plug in my phone to my USB port and backup my SD card stuff. Everything went fine. I'm sitting here browsing the web on my PC, it random reboots. Now I'm stuck on the Google lock screen.

I wonder if plugging into the USB did something? Like my computer went through the driver install routine as if I was plugging it in for the first time. UGH!!!

Edit: After a LONG time (over 5 minutes) on the lock screen it moved on to the X animation.

Edit edit: And it's back to normal. LOL.
