I use md5 checker from the play store. In the app, you load the file to be checked (I do it once the file is in it's final location) and then paste the md5 from where ever you downloaded it from. Then it just tells you if they match or not.

Conversely, just long press in astro, root explorer, etc. and click details or properties. That'll show you the md5, and just see if it matches the one listed where you downloaded the file from.

Just got 3.7 + 7/18 Gapps loaded up. Haven't checked MMS w/ WiFi yet, but right off the bat I can say Play Movies is still a no go

I guess I just don't get this. Just seems like something else has to be broken...just odd. Wonder if there is anyway to pull a log of what is happening in the background? Or what is being pulled that would be different from your phone to mine or others. I know I posted it several times on rootz, but will try again....
    Edit for patriot:
Question so I know what I am asking of jakeday...I am sorry these may be dumb..but I am trying:
You are using the new version of Movies...2.0.9c? And you installed a fresh copy of the app? And you have fixed permissions in recovery? After completely uninstalling the app, fix permissions, reboot, new install? And still no dice?
The app says it was updated on 6/27/12...so it should be fine for JB....theoretically.
PM me if this is too much to answer here..sorry

Playback, in any form. Streaming doesn't work, which is what is really important to me, but neither does pinning/saving for offline use

Clean flashed 3.7. Google now still FC's when adjusting conversions by the arrows. Everything else seems smoother than ever.

Yep...same thing for me. Clean flash. I'm going to keep a list of stuff that isn't working. MMS isn't working on wifi for me. Is there a trick to it? LOL

    1) Google search results - unit conversion - adjustment arrows
    2) Google Play Movies
    3) Swype doesn't autospace or autocapitalize
    4) MMS not working on wifi
    5) Wifi boot loop - I was able to fix this by turning it off and rebooting, but it was supposed to be fixed. I didn't have it in 3.6.

Let me know how you like 3.7 after some time with Chief! :)

Seems for the most part like it is quite snappy

How'd you upload movies? Or you mean you just moved them to the device via USB?

    Good morning folks!

I'm ready to flash 3.7 but I wanted to let you know that I added a couple of files to my Dropbox for you: Super Wipe and TWRP 2.2 flashable zip.

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7i3haj0ibhzb66i/TucjL5wXZh

Standard Disclaimer: I didn't write these files and, while I can vouch that they work on MY phone, I can't vouch for their working on yours. I provide them all in one place as a convenience to you: but I am not responsible for what you do to your phone. You are :)

Super Wipe is a simple little script that formats /data, /cache, /system and /dalvik in one shot. It was been very reliable for me on Nexus. If you're going to do a clean wipe, I recommend Super Wipe.

If ClockworkMod just ticks you off the way it was ticking me off, then try TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project). Version 2.2 allows you to name your backups right in recovery so they're more identifiable! Very smooth and intuitive. WARNING: ClockworkMod backups cannot be read or restored with TWRP and vice versa. As soon as you flash it, reboot into recovery and make a TWRP backup!

Off to flashing I go :D

EDIT: Dirty flashed 3.7, Gapps 3-18, Willjay's Blue Zenith mod and the 3.4 Reboot mod. Everything seems to work (SO FAR).

Remember that when you dirty flash, one of the first things you'll want to do is go to Settings --> Apps --> ALL and scroll down to Maps. Clear Map cache and data! If you don't do this, you run a great chance of Nav Lady sounding like a broken record* while navigating, saying the same thing over and over.

*- Does anyone else remember what a broken record IS and what it sounds like? Geez I'm getting old :p

    Morning all!!
3.7 is running very smooth for me...almost...Buttery!! I only lost 2% overnight in 6hrs.....but will be checking battery life today. I will probably give it a day to settle and then give Francos kernel a run...I have been sticking with lean kernal for a while because my phone likes it, but may give francos a try again...I miss fast USB and color mods.

Also wanted to mention a FAQ thread that has a lot of info about this ROM:
    http://rootzwiki.com/topic/29736-faq-jelly-belly-jellybean-common-questionsanswers/

Other than the Play movies issue for some, most answers there will help too. Still working on that Play issue Patriot...trading some PMs this morning with the dev, but so far we keep coming back to the app...not sure still.

That's the first time I have read the faq. Good stuff. I was staying away from superwipe, but it looks like it is recommended.

Yes, I did a dirty wipe to 3.7, plus 7/18 Gapps, and I use about 5 inverted apps....and forgot to plug the phone in overnight...I had 23 emails and 3 missed calls with voice mails, in just over 6 hours of (my) sleep time...and I only lost 2%....CPU spy says deep sleep was 87%...all on good WiFi...that is Great as far as I am concerned!!!
But the real test will be today at work...not so great 4g area...will report back later!

I feel like battery life is another one of those really, really, REALLY subjective topics that will never give you an accurate reading no matter who you ask. It's all personal. No one is running the same stuff and no one can really compare because everyone's location is different as well.

I can speak on just my experience and say that the GNex, no matter what ROM you are on, has pretty weak battery life. I even have the extended battery and while there is a difference, it is slight. The reality is the fact that this phone has an enormous screen and it's just so taxing on the battery, it can't hold up to constantly being on all the time. If you watch Netflix, chances are your phone will be drained in an hour. If you are listening to music, it'll last a good bit longer if you don't turn your screen on.

I guess the moral of this story is the fact that you just cannot take anyone's word without a HUGE salt-lick because it is not going to be that accurate for your specific device. It just isn't.

Haha. I noticed this as well and I actually kind of liked it. When it is actually happening, it resembles a baseball a bit. And I like baseball when the Braves aren't losing in extra innings to a guy named "Melky".

    Grumble, grumble...
